eKYC – The secure key to digital transactions in the era of AI

The presentation titled “eKYC – The Key to Safe Digital Transactions in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” by the Director of VNPT eKYC Digital Identification Platform emphasized the role and development trends of eKYC (electronic identification) in the digital finance sector in Vietnam.

It began by highlighting the importance of eKYC in boosting the number of online transactions, evidenced by impressive figures of 11 billion non-cash transactions and 27 million accounts opened through eKYC. However, the presentation also pointed out sophisticated forms of fraud in eKYC, such as document forgery, facial spoofing using Deep fake technology, and the use of Deep fake videos in the verification process, which cause significant economic losses.

VNPT eKYC’s solutions were discussed, including the application of AI to detect and prevent fraudulent activities in real-time, improve accuracy, and reduce fraud control costs. AI technologies such as Face & Voice Recognition & Verification, OCR & document liveness, and Data Science for anomaly detection were developed and implemented by VNPT AI, contributing to the enhancement of the effectiveness and reliability of the eKYC system.

Finally, the presentation affirmed VNPT’s readiness and commitment to partnering with banks and financial institutions, providing high-quality AI solutions to increase trust and security for users when transacting in the digital environment.
