Huawei provides the industry’s most comprehensive “two lines of defense and six layers of protection” anti-ransomware solution.
The two lines of defense refer to the defense on the network side and storage side. The six-layer protection refers to the two layers of protection on the network side and four layers of protection on the storage side.
Two-layer protection on the network side: The firewall and sandbox detects and defends against intrusions at the network border from viruses entering the customer network. In addition, to prevent virus literal movement and external comunication on the entire network.
Four-layer protection on the storage side: Even if a ransomware virus enters the data storage layer, we will not allow the virus to attack the data storage layer. At the storage layer, we use the DME unified security management platform (provides centralized security management and policy management) and OceanCyber Data Security Appliance (Provides security policies, ransomware detection and analysis, and ransomware prevention for storage devices). The built-in anti-ransomware function of storage devices builds four-layer ransomware protection measures: (1) Use AI algorithms to intercept and detect ransomware data behavior characteristics at the production storage end (OceanStor Dorado, New Hybrid Flash, and Pacific). (2) Apply the feature that local secure snapshots of the production storage cannot be changed to help customers save a clean and reliable copy of local data. (3) Even if the production storage is compromised, the professional backup storage can be restored by using independent immutable backup data copies. (4) In addition, any network may be attacked. Huawei uses the Air Gap network automatic switch technology to physically isolate the network to build an isolation zone and keep a clean data copy for the customer as much as possible, as the security guarantee for data recovery.
